Chengdu
The starting point of National Highway 318 is Shanghai, and the endpoint is the Friendship Bridge in Tibet, with a total length of 5476 kilometers. The section from Chengdu to Lhasa is 2142 kilometers long. It is the longest national highway in China and was officially opened to traffic in 1958. The southern route diverges from National Highway 108 at Ya'an and crosses Erlang Mountain to the west. The southern route of National Highway 318 in Sichuan and Tibet, located along the 30th parallel north, is known as 'China's Scenic Avenue.'
Ya'an
The Ya'an-Xichang Expressway is a highway connecting Ya'an City and Xichang City, with a total length of 240 kilometers. Construction began in 2007 and was completed in 2012. It is one of the major expressways from Beijing to Kunming and one of the eight major westward corridors. It is also an important part of the Lanzhou (Gansu) to Mohan (Yunnan) highway within Sichuan Province.
Moxi Town
Moxi Town is located in the central part of Luding County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China, on the eastern slope of Mount Gongga, at an altitude of about 1600 meters. 'Moxi' is an ancient Qiang language term meaning 'treasure land'. Moxi Town is managed by the Hailuogou Scenic Area Administration and serves as the tourist reception base and entrance to Hailuogou. It is approximately 304 kilometers from Chengdu, 52 kilometers from Luding County, and about 70 kilometers from Kangding.
Hailuogou
Asia's low-latitude glacier, a beautiful scenery along the Sichuan-Tibet line. The scenery is the most beautiful in May and from late October to mid-November. The stunning millennia-old glacier is breathtakingly beautiful.
Luding County is located in the southeastern part of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China, in the middle reaches of the Dadu River. It covers a total area of 2,165 square kilometers and has a total population of about 80,000. The Dadu River runs from north to south through the entire region, which is characterized by high mountains, steep slopes, and deep river valleys, making it a typical alpine canyon area. The Luding Bridge, the site of the famous 'Seizing of the Luding Bridge' by the Red Army during the Long March in 1935, spans the river.
Kangding City
Kangding City, formerly known as Dajianlu, is located in the eastern part of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan. It is renowned as the 'Gateway to Tibet' and the 'Strategic Passage between Sichuan and Tibet'. It serves as the political, economic, cultural, commercial center, and transportation hub of the entire prefecture, and is also the location of the prefecture's capital. Kangding is famous for the folk song 'Kangding Love Song'. The scenic area of Mount Gongga is located in the three counties of Kangding, Luding, and Jiulong.
Xinduqiao Town is a town under the jurisdiction of Kangding County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China. It was established in 1992 and is located in the western part of Kangding County. The town covers an area of 508.3 square kilometers and has a population of 6,012. Xinduqiao is known for its beautiful scenery and is a popular destination for photographers. In December 2019, Waze Township was abolished and its administrative region was placed under the jurisdiction of Xinduqiao Town. The People's Government of Xinduqiao Town is located at 342 Xinduqiao Street.
