Can parking in Rome and Florence be convenient? Or is it better to leave the car at the hotel and go out by car? Is it really difficult to avoid the ZTL issue ?

Park in garages outside the ztl in Florence, rent a car after visiting Rome, and both places are not suitable for Road trip. It's very convenient to walk.

The shuttle bus to the city center departs from the Florence Hilton Hotel every half hour. Free parking.

Okay, at least better than Paris. Florence is not a big city, actually you don't need to drive.

It's better not to drive by yourself, it's too hard to park. The hotel may not have a parking space.

You can't enter the old town of Florence before 7 p.m., but it's completely fine after 7 p.m. You can find a hotel in the new area to park, and I found a hotel for 10 euros a day. It takes 15 minutes to get to the old town by bus. Florence does not have any free parking.

There's a camping hotel in Florence, about 20 minutes' drive from Michelangelo. The camping hotel has free parking, but it's in the suburbs.

Do not drive into the city center of Italy! ZTL fines are very serious, and there are basically no free parking lots in Italian urban areas!

The Michelangelo Square is up on the hill, a distance away from the city center, and it's tiring to climb the hill. It's not worth visiting there.
