Introduction

Alster Lake is a lake in the city of Hamburg, divided into two sections by a bridge and a dam, namely the Greater Alster Lake and the Lesser Alster Lake. The outer lake has an area of 164 hectares and a depth of 4.5 meters, with lush vegetation along the lake shores. There is a hiking trail of approximately 7.4 kilometers around the outer lake, which is a favorite route for joggers. The area surrounding the Lesser Alster Lake is a bustling commercial district, with various German-style buildings complementing each other. Hamburg City Hall is located by the lake, creating a small and exquisite scenery that is favored by tourists. On sunny weekends, Germans love to sunbathe on the banks of the lake, particularly on the Jungfernstieg promenade. Alster Lake also has its own special festival, the Alster Fun Fair, a large-scale celebration featuring music, performances, and street food, held around the lake.
