The royal palace is very close to Kongens Nytorv, within walking distance. There are four grand halls in the palace, arranged on the square. Here, you can get a close look at the Danish royal family. You will also see princes and princesses driving in and out of the palace, and even catch a glimpse of the queen! Don't forget to take a photo with the Royal Guard, but don't expect them to smile at you.
Rosenburg Castle
Rosenborg Castle, home to the Danish Crown Jewels, is a must-visit and awe-inspiring. Located in the bustling King's Garden, it is the epitome of historic architecture in the heart of the city. It is an ideal place for a picnic on sunny days.
Amalienborg Palace is opposite the magnificent Marble Church, which is the largest dome church in Scandinavia. Other royal attractions in the city include the Royal Reception Rooms located in Christiansborg Palace (now the Danish Parliament) and Copenhagen Cathedral, also known as the Church of our Lady, which has hosted many royal events, including the wedding of the Crown Prince Couple - HRH Prince Frederik and HRH Princess Mary of Denmark.
Hamlet's residence
UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Roskilde Cathedral - burial site of the Danish Royal Family, and Kronborg Castle in Helsingør - the fictional home of Hamlet. Both are not far from Copenhagen and great for short trips.
