Introduction

Khajuraho Group of Monuments is a historical site built during the Chandela dynasty and reached its peak of power between 950 and 1050 AD. Currently, there are only 20 temples remaining, classified into Hindu and Jain religious groups. The architecture and sculptures here are perfectly balanced. The famous Kandariya temple is adorned with a wealth of intricate and vibrant sculptures, making it a masterpiece of Indian art. The Khajuraho Group of Monuments was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1986, recognized for its cultural significance under criteria C (I) (III).
