Recommended shopping in Sweden

In recent years, Gothenburg has been dedicated to creating a thriving design city with numerous local street designers, many of whom are also internationally renowned. The city boasts over 500 shops, where modern department stores coexist with independent boutiques, pedestrian areas, galleries, and arcades - all within a five-minute walk of each other, making the city vibrant.

Nordstan Shopping Center

Nordstan has around 200 stores, making it the largest and most diverse shopping center in Sweden. The mall features a wide selection of top fashion and shoe brands, as well as cosmetics, home appliances, sporting goods, books, jewelry, flowers, banks, newsstands, pharmacies, cafes, and restaurants. There are also frequent entertainment and performance events held here.

NK Nordiska Kompaniet Department Store

Located in the center of Gothenburg, this four-story department store mainly sells clothing, jewelry, cosmetics, leather goods, and home furnishings, gathering a large number of well-known luxury brands from Sweden and around the world.

Haga District

This ancient town is home to a large number of different types of shops, including antiques, fashion, home furnishings, books, etc., as well as many cafes and restaurants. There is a farmers' market every Saturday from August to October, and a traditional Christmas market in December.

Kronhuset and Kronhusbodarna

Kronhuset, located behind Gustav Adolf Square, is the oldest building in Gothenburg. Built in 1642, it was originally used to store military supplies. Kronhusbodarna, located around Kronhuset, was built in 1750 and 1759 in the east and west wings, respectively. Today, there are many handicraft shops here, selling items such as glassware, chocolates, candies, clocks, ceramics, and leather goods. The coffee and pastry shops here are also popular.
