Introduction

In Oamaru, there is a famous landing site called Bushy Beach, which is the home of yellow-eyed penguins. These lovely creatures usually return home from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, depending on the weather conditions. There are two viewing points at the landing site, one at the end of the road with a wide view but far away, and the other in the middle of the road with some trees blocking the view but closer. To protect the yellow-eyed penguins, we prohibit anyone from getting too close. These little guys are quite timid and need our protection and care.
