Introduction

Penguin Island, located in the southern part of Perth, is known for its scenic beauty. It has 1,200 of the world's smallest tropical penguins, and visitors can watch the interesting penguin performances at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. Other wild marine life, such as dolphins, sea lions, stingrays, pelicans, and seabirds, can also be seen on the island. Tourists can participate in snorkeling, swimming, surfing, picnicking, or coastal hiking activities on the island. Rockingham Wild Encounters boat company is the only port of call to Penguin Island, offering different day trip options for travelers. These include leisure tours to see penguins, glass-bottom boat tours to see sea lion gathering spots, and kayaking tours. The opening time is approximately from mid-September to the following June's Western Australia Day, and the island does not receive tourists in winter to protect the nesting penguins from disturbance.
