Introduction

San Francisco City Hall is a historic and solemn building built in 1915, using the Washington Conference Hall as a design template. The architect, Arthur Buown Jr, also designed two other famous buildings, Coit Tower and theater. The city hall's Baroque dome takes its inspiration from St. Peter's Basilica, and there is a sculpture at the intersection of FOLK street that reminds people of the fable of the Golden Heart Grass. The grand scale and majestic appearance of the city hall attract many tourists, and the sculptures on the triangular wall embody the strong ideas of wealth, trade and navigation. As the political center of San Francisco, the city hall is also an important place for politicians to showcase and perform themselves.
