Beginner's Guide to Visiting Silicon Valley

Visiting the Bay Area in Northern California, apart from the must-see San Francisco downtown and nearby attractions, the Peninsula and South Bay, located in the Bay Area, are also regions that many people include in their travel itineraries. The Peninsula is home to the famous Stanford University, known for its spacious and comfortable environment as well as iconic architecture, attracting many visitors on a pilgrimage. Additionally, the South Bay, Silicon Valley, is also home to numerous technology companies, including Google, Apple, and other giant tech campuses, making it a popular tourist destination.

Hoover tower

Hoover Tower is the iconic building of the Hoover Institution. It features an observation deck where visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Stanford University and the entire Palo Alto area.

The Memorial Church

Completed in 1903, Memorial Church is a landmark of Stanford University. Its exterior is Romanesque architecture, and its details are designed in the style of Byzantine art, including murals. The stained glass and four large organs inside the church make it even more magnificent.

Rodin sculpture garden

It is said that this is the largest Rodin bronze statue garden outside of Paris and it is open to visitors for free all year round. Visitors are attracted by the scenery inside the garden, especially at night when the effect of the lighting is beautiful.

Cantor Arts Center

There are multiple art constructions and scenic spots in Stanford campus, among which the Cantor Center of Visual Arts has 24 galleries, sculpture gardens and other exhibitions, including special exhibitions introducing the Stanford Family's art exhibition and history. There are different exhibitions throughout the year, and it is free for visitors.

Stanford dish hiking trail

Friends who like hiking are recommended to go to the Stanford Dish Hiking Trail next to the campus. The route is located between Stanford and I-280 Hwy and is approximately 3.7 miles long with picturesque scenery along the way.

Arizona Cactus Garden

Why not visit the Cactus Garden on campus if you are interested in gardening? It is located between Campus Drive and Arboretum Road.

Stanford Shopping Center

Since we are at Stanford University, I have to mention the nearby Stanford Shopping Center. It is the most beautiful shopping center in the Bay Area, with a well-planned outdoor shopping area and a variety of flowers such as wisteria, cherry blossoms, tulips, morning glory, etc. There are intimate sofa and umbrella areas and charging areas in every corner for guests to rest!
