Introduction
Located in the center of San Gimignano, the Well Square is one of the most famous central squares in the area, adjacent to the historic cathedral. As a peaceful and beautiful small square, Well Square is the intersection of two important roads, the Via Francigena north-south and Pisa-Siena east-west, so cultural venues such as cafes, souvenir shops and restaurants are scattered around the square. The square is slightly sloping, and the other side preserves a well excavated in the 13th century, from which the name "Well Square" derives.
