Introduction

This black and white striped cathedral is outstanding even by Italian standards. During World War II in 1941, it was not destroyed by British bombs, thanks to the efforts of the poor who protected the integrity of the cathedral. As you pass through the winding railings and crouching lions, you will see the first temple built in 1118. In the 16th century, this cathedral added two bell towers and a dome.
