Introduction

Via Manzoni is a busy street that connects Piazza Scala and Piazza Gae Aulenti. It is home to many famous buildings, such as the Palazzo Reale and the Milan Grand Hotel. Via Manzoni is also the northwest boundary of Milan's upscale shopping district, the "Fashion Quadrilateral," with many luxury brand retail stores. The Palazzo Reale, located at Via Manzoni 12, is a museum dedicated to collecting works by northern Italian and Dutch/Flemish artists. Originally, this museum was Pezzoli's private collection, donated to the city of Milan in 1879.
