Introduction
The Ponte Santa Trinita, located in Florence, Italy, is one of the oldest elliptic arch bridges in the world, spanning 32 meters over the Arno River and primarily made of limestone. It was initially built during the Renaissance period, possibly designed by Michelangelo, but constructed by architect Ammannati. The bridge was completed between 1567 and 1569 and was strategically important at the time. In 1944, the bridge was destroyed by German troops but later restored to its original appearance and is now a cultural heritage site in the city. Address The Ponte Santa Trinita in Florence, Italy
