Introduction

The Knights' Island Church, located on the Knights' Island next to Stockholm's old town, is the burial church of the Swedish royal family. Many Swedish kings, including Gustaf V who died in 1950, are buried here and visitors can see several coffins of the kings. The church was built in the early 14th century and is one of the oldest buildings in Stockholm. The cast iron spire has become the most prominent symbol near the old town.
