Transportation
The most convenient way, besides joining a local tour group, is to take a train to St. Malo and then transfer to a dedicated bus to Mont Saint-Michel. The bus departs three to four times a day or eight to nine times a day, depending on the season, with departure and arrival times closely matching the train schedule. Alternatively, you can take a TGV train from Paris to the town of Rennes, and then take a dedicated coach from the coach station behind the train station to Mont Saint-Michel. There are two to three buses per day, and specific information can be found on the official website http://www.destination-montsaintmichel.com/en/mont-saint-michel-timetables-valid-from-the-5th-of-july-2015-to-the--p0-C61.html. Train tickets and bus tickets from Paris to Mont Saint-Michel can be purchased directly from the French train website SNCF, while bus tickets from Rennes to Mont Saint-Michel can only be purchased at the station or from the driver.
