Cathédrale Ste-Réparate, Baroque Splendor in the Heart of Old Town

Place Rossetti 06300 Nice
4.1

Introduction

The church was built in the mid-17th century and was originally a regular church, but was later elevated to a grand cathedral in the 16th century. It is one of the most magnificent churches in the old town of Nice, inspired by the Baroque style and designed in the form of a Latin cross. The chapels and altars inside the church are luxuriously decorated, drawing inspiration from the St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. In 1906, the church was classified as a historic monument by the French Ministry of Culture.
