Introduction

Massena Square is a famous semi-pedestrian zone in the city center of Nice, consisting of two parts: Place Carlo-Alberto and Place Massena. Place Carlo-Alberto, built from 1820 to 1830, is semi-circular in shape and in neoclassical style, located on the edge of the old town of Nice. Place Massena, built from 1840 to 1852, is in 18th-century style, with its southern side adjacent to the old town and its northern side close to Jean Medecin Boulevard. The central part is covered by the Paillon Riverbed, with Albert I Garden to the west and Jardins de la Salle Victorine to the east. The ground is paved with black and white stones in a checkered pattern, and there are 36 stone pines planted around the center. The underground parking of Place Massena has 325 parking spaces. The square can be reached by walking north from the opera house in the old town of Nice, passing through Jean Medecin Boulevard, where there is a tourist information center. On both sides of the square are banks, shops, and the Lafayette department store, with bus stops concentrated in the surrounding area. The square has 7 sculptures called "Nice Dialogues," representing the 7 continents. The square is always bustling with people.
