Introduction
The church, built in 1693, is the second oldest building in Irkutsk and was rebuilt in 1718 after a major fire. This building cleverly integrates architectural elements of Buddhism, incorporating design elements of multi-tiered pagodas. In addition, the front of the building features stunning intricate floral decorations, which are often used by the local Buryat people in their handicrafts.
