Introduction

Qi Gu Lagoon is located within the Taijiang National Park in Taiwan, and was formed by four river diversions of the Zengwen River. It is now the largest and most complete lagoon ecosystem in Taiwan and is worth a visit. However, due to the inconvenience of transportation, the best way to explore the lagoon is by taking a rubber raft to see the fishing nets and oyster farming. During low tide, one can walk on the unique bread sand. In addition, visitors can learn about Taiwan's special oyster culture and taste fresh and large oysters. Besides these two popular attractions, the ecological resources here are very rich, with more than 30 species of crabs and over 200 species of fish, shrimp, and shellfish. In winter, tourists can even see the endangered black-faced spoonbill on the river mouth or sandbar. This bird species has only 2000+ individuals worldwide, with most of them flying to the Zengwen River mouth, attracting many birdwatchers to visit. Qi Gu Lagoon is a vast area, and visitors can choose the right boat company at the pier to experience an eco-tour of birdwatching, mangrove forest, and crab observation. It's worth noting that during summer and winter tourism, the intense sun and sea breeze may be uncomfortable, so tourists should bring sunglasses and warm outerwear.
