Sai Kung, A Serene Escape with Fresh Seafood Delights
Sai Kung Area

Introduction
Sai Kung, located on a peninsula surrounded by the sea, is known as the "backyard garden of Hong Kong" and a haven for seafood lovers. Visitors can buy fresh seafood directly from fishermen and enjoy delicious meals at nearby restaurants that offer cooking services. Another highlight of Sai Kung is the fish farms, which are floating platforms made of plastic barrels built by fishermen.
From Sai Kung Pier, tourists can choose to take ferries, speedboats, or sampans to explore nearby islands and fish farms. The famous Sharp Island is connected to neighboring Kiu Tsui Chau by a natural sandbar, which can be crossed on foot during low tide. In addition, Kiu Tsui Chau, Leung Shuen Wan, and Ko Chau Islands are part of the Hong Kong Global Geopark, with unique geological features. Due to the rough waters in these areas, it is recommended to visit during calm summer days for boat tours close to the shore. Alternatively, visitors can also explore Sai Kung by biking or hiking.
Before visiting the islands near Sai Kung, it is important to check the weather conditions in advance. During high tide, the sandbar connecting Kiu Tsui Chau may be submerged, affecting the return route and time. Therefore, tourists can gather related weather information, such as tides, from the Hong Kong Observatory website to ensure a smooth journey.
