Introduction

A private pleasure garden constructed in 1765, it was built by the first Sultan. It features a swimming pool specifically designed for the Sultan's harem, as well as a tower that offers a panoramic view of the sea. Along the streets behind the garden, there are numerous canals and rooms, as well as a maze of steps leading to an abandoned well, adding to the castle's collection of historical relics. This relatively small castle was once the Sultan's personal entertainment venue. Located southwest of the Yogyakarta Palace, it has two swimming pools where the Sultan's wives used to swim. However, be cautious of scammers selling batik near the entrance pretending to be guides while visiting the Water Castle.
