Introduction

In Tashkent, besides the famous Timur Square and Chorsu Bazaar, there is another must-see attraction: the Islamic Religious Center of Uzbekistan. It is a square consisting of many exquisite Islamic religious buildings, among which the most striking is the Hazrati Imam Mosque. This large mosque is one of the largest and most luxurious mosques in Uzbekistan, with two minarets standing outside at a height of 54 meters. The interior of the mosque has a large blue and gold dome, which is one of the most typical Islamic architectural styles. Behind the main mosque, there are two ancient buildings, the small and exquisite one is the Miri Arab Madrasa, which has now become the Museum of Quran, containing various versions of the Quran. The most precious one is the Osman Standard Quran, which is said to date back to the 7th century, although historians believe it is not so old, it is still one of the oldest Qurans in the world. It was looted by Tamerlane and is now regarded as a national treasure of Uzbekistan. Unfortunately, photography is prohibited in the museum. Opposite the Miri Arab Madrasa is the large Barak Khan Madrasa, which has been occupied by handicraft vendors, but you can still find some handmade wooden crafts. This is a place where various cultures, beliefs, and histories blend together and should not be missed.
