Izumo Taisha is one of the oldest shrines in Japan. It is also known for its association with matchmaking and attracting couples. The ema, or prayer plaques, often have cute illustrations of a man and a woman.

Opening hours
From March to October, opening hours are from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. From November to the following February, opening hours are from 6:30 AM to 8:00 PM.
