Introduction

Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum is located within the Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima. It consists of the West Building (Main Building) and the East Building. While the East Building is currently under renovation, it is expected to be open to visitors in the near future. The museum showcases the devastating impact of the atomic bombing through photos, multimedia, and other exhibits, raising awareness of the immense threat posed by nuclear weapons and the importance of peace. Additionally, the museum displays artifacts from the aftermath of the bombing, providing a tangible glimpse into the events of that time.

Opening hours
8:30-18:00 (extended to 19:00 in August, and until 20:00 on August 5th and 6th
closed at 17:00 from December to February, and closed on December 30th and 31st). Please enter the museum 30 minutes before closing.
Transportation
Departing from JR Hiroshima Station, you can take the Hiroshima Electric Railway streetcar to various destinations: Take the No. 1 line towards Hiroshima Port and get off at Hondori, Fukuro-machi, or Chuden-mae front stops. Take the No. 2 line towards Miyajima-guchi or Ebisu-dori and get off at the "Genbaku Dome" stop. The JR city loop bus orange and green lines also serve the area and are free with a JR All-Area Pass.
