Introduction

Rokusonno Shrine is located near Tō-ji Temple, about a five-minute walk from the west gate of Tō-ji. It was built in honor of Prince Kōzō, the sixth son of Emperor Keihi. While its historical background can be explored through historical documents, many people visit for the picturesque scenery. During cherry blossom season, the view here is enchanting, with large patches of cherry blossoms in full bloom. Despite its small size, Rokusonno Shrine is definitely a top destination for cherry blossom viewing.
