Introduction

Located in Tashkurghan Tajik Autonomous County, the Red Bridge Port has an elevation of over 5000 meters and is one of the highest-altitude ports in the world. It was officially opened to Pakistan in 1985 and to third-country nationals in 1986. This port was an important passage on the ancient Silk Road over a thousand years ago, and now it is a crucial gateway for China to Pakistan, South Asia, and Europe. From Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County to the Hongqilafu border monument, there is a 120-kilometer journey that takes 3 hours.
