Introduction

Jianshui Confucius Temple was built in the Yuan Dynasty and has a history of over 700 years. Its existing architectural scale, level of preservation and condition rank third among Confucian temples in China. The temple has East, West and South gates, with the South gate being the main entrance for visitors while the East gate is located opposite the Confucius Culture Square. The most popular attraction for tourists is the main building of the temple - the Dacheng Hall. This five-room hall is the core of the temple and houses the dragon throne and statue of Confucius. Every weekend, the temple hosts large-scale ancient music performances, which are free for audiences to watch. The performance times are from 9am to 11am in the morning and 2pm to 4pm in the afternoon.
