Introduction
In 1963, with Kenya's independence, the former Cotton Museum was renamed the National Museum and joined the Kenya National Museum System. In recent years, the Nairobi National Museum has completed renovation projects and reopened in June 2008. The museum displays permanent and temporary exhibits, allowing visitors to appreciate the changes and interests of the museum. There is also a snake park, botanical garden, and natural science education path on the square for tourists to enjoy and learn. The museum has ancillary facilities, including restaurants and shops.
