Introduction

The famous Dai Temple Stone Carving on the Daimiao Peak of Mount Tai attracts many tourists to visit and take photos. This stone carving, named "Ji Taishan Inscription", was carved in 726 AD during the Tang Dynasty's Kaiyuan period. It measures 12.3 meters in height and 5.3 meters in width, with 24 lines and 51 characters. Currently, 1008 characters are preserved, with a font size of 16x25 centimeters. Except for the four characters of "Imperial Order" and the last line of year, month, and day which are in regular script, the rest are in clerical script. There is also a 3.95-meter high top inscription in clerical script that reads "Ji Taishan Inscription" in two rows of four characters, with a font size of 45x56 centimeters. Legend has it that Emperor Xuanzong Li Longji of the Tang Dynasty wrote this inscription himself, with Yan Xu in charge of rhetoric and Han Shi in charge of penmanship. The writing style of this inscription is beautiful and has important value for studying the history, calligraphy, and sculpture of the Tang Dynasty.
