Bise Village Station, A Century-Old Railway Station with French Elegance
Caoba Town, Mengzi City, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China
4.1
Introduction
Originally built in 1909, the Flea Market Station, located at the core of the Yunnan-Vietnam Railway, is now renamed as the Bishe Zhai Station. Its unique French architectural style makes one feel like being in a small town in France. In addition to being one of the oldest railway stations in China, it is also a key national cultural heritage site. Interestingly, the expressions "trains are not as fast as cars" and "railways not only connect domestically but also internationally," which are part of the Yunnan 18 Oddities, are related to this ancient train station.
