Introduction

The Boao Forum for Asia International Conference Center is a permanent venue located on the picturesque Dongyu Island, and serves as the fixed venue for the annual Boao Forum for Asia. Since 2002, the forum has been held in Boao, Hainan Province. The center features impressive modern architecture, intelligent facilities, tranquil and beautiful golf courses, and a harmonious picture of nature and ancient legends. The Boao Forum for Asia is a non-governmental, non-profit international organization that provides a high-level dialogue platform for government, business, and academic leaders in Asia and other regions to discuss important issues in Asia and the world. In 1998, Ramos (former president of the Philippines), Hawke (former prime minister of Australia), and Huxi Hosokawa (former prime minister of Japan) jointly initiated the Boao Forum for Asia, which was officially established in February 2001.
