Dongjiao Coconut Forest Scenic Area
When mentioning Wenchang, people first think of the coconut forest in Dongjiao. There is a saying, 'Half of Hainan's coconuts are in Wenchang, and the most beautiful coconut forest is in Dongjiao.' The scenic area is located in Dongjiao Town, Wenchang City, by the seaside. It can be reached by crossing the Qinglan Bridge. Here, coconut trees grow in large clusters, including varieties such as red, green, tall, and water coconuts, totaling over 500,000 trees. The coconut forest in the eastern suburbs is not fixed; the coconut forest scenery stretches along the way. There are not many supporting facilities, and you can stop at any time to walk into the depths of the coconut forest. Although the scenery may seem a bit monotonous and primitive, it is purely natural and free of charge.
Space City Satellite Launch Base
When mentioning Wenchang, what comes to mind for most people is the Space City sightseeing tour that opened in March 2016. It is important to note that this is not a free tour; visitors must take an electric vehicle to tour the launch center. There are dedicated guides on-site to provide explanations. Visitors can take photos within the designated areas. In Wenchang Space City, you can closely observe the launch tower command center, rocket launch pad, rocket material transportation center, and rocket assembly base. The tour lasts about 50-60 minutes. It's worth visiting with children to experience life in space. It takes about 30 minutes to drive from Dongjiao Coconut Grove.
When visiting Wenchang, most tourists are drawn to the ancestral residence of the three Song sisters, located in Changsa Town, Wenchang City. Contrary to many people's expectations of grandeur, it is situated on a small hill surrounded by fruit trees and is no different from ordinary residences in Hainan. This place is a birthplace and memorial site for notable figures. The scenic area is filled with tropical trees planted by national leaders, providing a lush and tranquil environment. The simplicity of the ancient residence exudes a sense of elegance. Inside the ancestral residence, there are statues of Soong Ching-ling and Sun Yat-sen.
Stone Park
The clear water and beautiful scenery are the biggest features here. What is even more touching is the millennia-long interaction between the stones and the waves. There is no entrance fee, and there are no traces of artificial carving. Barefoot climbing on the continuous rocks, one can feel the primitive sense of power and the magnificent scenery crafted by nature. The waves, carrying fine sand, wash the coast. At that moment, my heart felt as vast as the entire ocean, and worries and stress became as insignificant as dust, impossible to find. Only natural landscapes that are not artificially maintained can bring such power.
