Introduction
Liángyuán in Foshan is a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit in Guangdong. Built during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, it is a private garden of four famous local poets, calligraphers, and painters: Liáng Airu, Liáng Jiǔzhāng, Liáng Jiǔhuá, and Liáng Jiǔtú. The buildings in the garden, such as Qúnxīng Cǎotáng, Fénjiāng Cǎolú, Shí'èr Shízhāi, and Hánxiāng Guǎn, fusion together, presenting a strong local flavor. Liángyuán covers an area of 200 mu and includes pavilions, towers, stone paths, bridges, and exotic flowers and plants, with an extremely ingenious scale and layout. As an outstanding representative of Lingnan gardens, Liángyuán is renowned as one of the four famous gardens in Guangdong during the Qing Dynasty, along with Qinghui Garden, Yuyin Shanfang, and Ke Garden. The lake, strange stones, and green trees in the garden create a natural and harmonious beautiful scene, and various brick sculptures, wood sculptures, stone sculptures, and plaster sculptures add color to the garden, exhibiting typical Lingnan architectural features.
