The bell tower and the drum tower in the square

Introduction

The Drum Tower and Bell Tower are 200 meters apart, and these two Ming dynasty buildings complement each other, one of the best-preserved Drum Tower relics in China, with a grand scale. The entire building does not use iron nails, but instead uses the architectural techniques of the Song dynasty on the basis of Tang dynasty architecture, presenting a magnificent architectural style. There used to be a huge drum in the tower that was struck every day to announce the time, hence the name "Drum Tower". Although the giant drum no longer exists after the baptism of time, the Drum Tower still stands tall. The eaves are covered with deep green glazed tiles, and the interior of the tower is decorated with gold and colored paintings and exquisite wall paintings and eaves carvings. The top of the tower is also covered with a gilded treasure spire. The building style is eccentric and majestic, with a strong ethnic flavor.
