Introduction

In Chinese folklore, people believe that after people die, they will come to a place called Naihe Bridge. If a person did good things before they died, the gods and buddhas will protect them on Naihe Bridge, allowing them to easily pass through. However, if a person did bad things, they will be punished and sent to the Blood River Pool to suffer. Naihe Bridge is divided into three layers: kind ghosts can safely reach their destination through the upper layer, people who have both good and bad deeds must walk through the middle layer, and wicked people can only walk through the lowest layer, where their ghosts will be drowned in polluted water and bitten by copper snakes and iron dogs. In reality, Naihe Bridge is located in front of the Liao Yang Palace in Fengdu Ghost City, with three parallel stone arch bridges. These three bridges are built on flat ground, and are the same size and shape, with a width of four feet and stone railings on both sides. The bridge surface is slightly curved and has a history of over 500 years.
