Introduction
Nanchan Temple, built over 1200 years ago, is a temple facing south and located in the north. Surrounded by flowing water and lush trees, with red walls, green trees, blue water and green hills, the environment is very peaceful and beautiful. The most famous building in the temple is the Great Buddha Hall, which is the main building of the temple. It has a width and depth of three bays, but the interior is one large room and follows the typical architectural style of the Tang Dynasty. It is the oldest existing wooden ancient architecture in China. All the statues in the Great Buddha Hall are Tang Dynasty heritage, and their style is similar to the colored statues of the Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang. Around the Buddha altar in the Great Buddha Hall are 70 brick carvings, which are masterpieces of brick sculpting art in the Tang Dynasty, and are also of great artistic value. Stepping into the Great Buddha Hall is like entering a Tang Dynasty art palace, with both the architecture, statues, and brick carvings being considered national treasures.
