Introduction

Zhuge Village, located in the central-western city of Lanxi in Zhejiang Province, is about 18 kilometers away from the city center. It is said that more than 4,000 descendants of Zhuge Liang live here, making it the largest settlement of its kind in the country. The entire village is centered around the Zhongchi, with eight small alleys radiating outwards, forming an internal nine-palace layout. Eight small hills surround the village, forming an external Eight Trigrams. The buildings in Zhuge Village are mainly in the Ming and Qing styles, with more than 200 well-preserved residential houses and halls. The village has a large group size and rich cultural connotations. After hundreds of years of baptism, the architectural style of blue bricks, grey tiles, horse-head walls, fat beams, thick pillars, and small boudoirs has remained consistent, making it one of the best-preserved, largest, and most orderly ancient villages in the country. The village scenery is picturesque, with ancient buildings, commercial centers, and other landscapes forming a unified and richly varied whole.
