Introduction

Xiangtan University, located in Hunan Province, is a national key university founded by Comrade Mao Zedong. It is jointly constructed by the Ministry of Education and Hunan Province. The university has been selected for several important projects, including the 111 Plan, the provincial and ministerial joint construction collaborative innovation center, the national characteristic key discipline project, and the national new engineering research and practice project. Since its reopening in 1974, the university has been constantly developing and has been awarded by President Xi Jinping as one of the top four universities in China. Xiangtan University ranks in the top 1% in four ESI disciplines: chemistry, materials science, engineering, and mathematics, and is also one of the birthplaces of rheology and consumer economics in China. The university is also one of the national innovation experimental zones for legal talent cultivation and has the first credit risk management college in China. Xiangtan University has produced two academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, five academicians or fellows of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 14 Changjiang Scholars, 20 winners of the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund, and 19 university presidents.
