Introduction

The grass on the Hongyuan grassland is lush, and the White River flows like a crescent, hence its nickname Moon Bay Grassland. In comparison to the Ruoergai Grassland, the Hongyuan Grassland is flatter, as if a beautiful Tibetan girl is standing still. The Red Army marched through this place during the Long March, leaving behind their footprints and campsites. It's important to choose the right time to visit here; during late autumn, there is no lush green grass or wildflowers to see, but through the sunlight, the grassland shines with a golden glow.

Hongyuan Grassland is located in Hongyuan County, Sichuan Province, about 300 kilometers from Chengdu and only 3 kilometers from the city of Hongyuan. Shuttle buses are available at Chengdu Cha Dian Zi Bus Station and Xin Nan Men Bus Station for about 100 yuan per person, departing generally between 7:00-8:00 in the morning. From Hongyuan County, visitors can walk to the grassland.
