Introduction

The University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) is a national key university under the direct supervision of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It focuses on cutting-edge and high-tech research while also covering unique disciplines in management and humanities. As a member of the "211 Project," "985 Project," "Project 111," "Project 2011," "Outstanding Engineers Education Program," "Knowledge Innovation Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences," and a base for innovation and entrepreneurship of high-level talents who are studied abroad, USTC plays an important role in promoting higher education and scientific progress in China. In addition, USTC is a member of the C9 League, the Association of Chinese University Presidents, the Association of East Asian Research Universities, and the Pacific Rim University Alliance. It is a vice-ministerial level university jointly built by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Education, and the Anhui Provincial Government.
