Introduction
The first archaeological themed museum in Chinese universities, the Sackler Museum of Archaeology and Art at Peking University is located in the Minghexuan within the university. The museum is dedicated to education, research, and social service, showcasing achievements in Chinese archaeology and museum studies, promoting knowledge about archaeology and traditional Chinese culture. The museum has an area of about 2000 square meters, with collections including stone objects, bronze objects, oracle bones, pottery, porcelain, calligraphy, and steles. Exhibitions are divided into seven parts covering Old Stone Age, New Stone Age, Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties, Warring States Period, Qin and Han Dynasties, Three Kingdoms and Two Jin Dynasties, Southern and Northern Dynasties, Sui and Tang Dynasties, Song, Liao, Jin, Yuan and Ming Dynasties. The museum also provides opportunities for specimen observation and teaching internships for students studying Chinese archaeology and museum studies, contributing to research in Chinese archaeology. In addition, the museum actively engages in international academic exchanges in the fields of cultural relics, archaeology, and museum studies, promoting mutual understanding and friendship among peoples around the world.
