Introduction
The gate and tower of Qingyan City were built during the renovation by Vice Commander-in-Chief Ban Yingshou in the seventeenth year of the Qing Shunzhi reign (1660). During the Xianfeng period, Zhao Guoshu, the general manager of Qingyan, carried out a comprehensive renovation of the city and built the gate and tower. The tower is three bays wide and about four meters deep, and is covered with green tiles. In 1993, the government allocated special funds and raised funds to repair it again, and rebuilt the roof with yellow glazed tiles. However, the repair of Dingguang Gate was not guided by experts, and there was no protective wall under the wall bracket, which is a regret. In 2000, the municipal government allocated funds again for the repair of the gate and tower, restored the green tile roof, and installed a protective wall, which basically restored the old appearance of the gate and tower.
