Tianlong Tunpu is one of the earliest and most famous Tunpu (fortified villages) developed in Guizhou. It is known as a living fossil of the Ming Dynasty. A Han ethnic group, the Tunpu people, reside here. Their ancestors were soldiers relocated from the Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, thus preserving the cultural customs of the Ming Dynasty.
Although Tiantai Mountain is not high, it is steep and is a key national protected cultural relic. The architectural style of Tiantai Mountain is unique. It was initially built with a strong military nature, but over time, the military nature gradually faded, forming a sacred place of incense for Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism. Climbing to the top of the mountain, you will experience the panoramic view of Tiantai and the vitality of the surrounding peaks. There are also more than 3,000 species of plants, with vines providing shade and sacred camphor trees reaching the sky.
