Introduction
Located 12 kilometers west of Lishi City and built in 637 during the 11th year of the Tang Dynasty's Zhenguan Era, Anguo Temple is a cultural heritage tourism destination featuring natural and cultural landscapes, ancient temple and castle architecture. According to legend, a righteous official named Yu Chenglong studied here for six years and later achieved great success in his career, earning the title of "the most honest official in the world" from Emperor Kangxi. The Lishi District has invested more than 8 million yuan in building a 6.5-kilometer Anguo Temple tourism route to facilitate tourists' visit. The main buildings in the temple include the Buddha hall, copper pagoda tower, and study hall. The Buddha hall houses three painted bodhisattvas and 124 murals, which are vivid and colorful. Lishi District of Lvliang City revealed that it will create the first anti-corruption education base in the province based on the Anguo Temple in order to promote the concept of honest and corruption-free governance to the society.
