Introduction
Zhangbi Village, also known as Zhangbi Ancient Castle, is located in Longfeng Town, Jiexiu City, Shanxi Province, China. It has the advantage of its terrain and has a three-layer ancient underground passage that measures 3000 meters long. On top of it, there are fortifications and walls that stretch for 1300 meters and inside, there are five major temple buildings. Zhangbi Ancient Castle is a rare castle site in China that has a dual military and civilian use, and it is also one of the few well-preserved ancient miniature castles. There are many historical sites inside the castle, including Xia and Zhou ancient cultural relics, Sui and Tang Dynasty underground passages, Jin Dynasty tombs, Yuan Dynasty theaters, Ming and Qing Dynasty residential buildings, etc. The most worth seeing is the three-layer underground passage, which contains facilities such as horse stables, granaries, flood prevention and blocking, wall-mounted communication equipment, and assassination devices. However, the construction time and builders of the hidden tunnels of the castle have always been a mystery to archaeologists.
