Introduction
Sanmenxia Dam Scenic Area features steep topography and beautiful scenery, with winding hills on both sides.
The main attractions of the scenic area include the Yellow River Exhibition Hall, Dayu Park, Zhongliu Dizhu, Zhanggong Island, Shuzhuangtai, Shuijing Palace, Lian Danlu, and the Yellow River Ancient Trail.
With the completion of the Sanmenxia Dam, the reservoir area has formed a large wetland due to seasonal changes in water level. In spring and autumn, the rippling water presents the gentle beauty of the Jiangnan water town; during flood discharge, the raging muddy waves show the authentic grandeur of the Yellow River. From November to February of the following year, a large number of swans from Siberia overwinter in the reservoir area, playing in the blue water and sky and adding color to the scenic area.
