Introduction

The Kubuqi Desert, located in the northern part of the Ordos Plateau in Inner Mongolia, is well-known for its spectacular singing sand dunes. The desert has diverse topography, with relatively more rainfall in the east and central regions, where seasonal gullies, valley terraces, and numerous oasis landscapes can be seen, forming favorable microclimatic conditions. In the west, water sources are scarce, with only the Sairamulun River disappearing into the desert, and the underground water is influenced by the Yellow River, resulting in better water quality. Exploring the Kubuqi Desert not only allows you to enjoy sand boarding and experience the magical sound of singing sand, but also discover the centuries-old charm of the desert.
