Introduction

The General's Office was originally built during the Ming Dynasty in the Longqing period, and later became the administrative office of the General responsible for guarding Jiayuguan during the Ming and Qing dynasties. The current building was restored and rebuilt on the original site in 1987, presenting a layout of two courtyards, three halls and a quadrangle courtyard. The exhibition in the General's Office is divided into two parts: the front courtyard and the back courtyard. The front courtyard is centered around the meeting hall, vividly displaying scenes of ancient Generals and civil and military officials commanding troops, issuing official documents, and other scenes. The back courtyard is the living area of the General and his family, which realistically reproduces their daily life scenes.
