Introduction

The Luoyang Bridge is a masterpiece of ancient Chinese bridge architecture, located on the Luoyang River in the northeast of Quanzhou, Fujian. It was built in the fifth year of the Song Dynastys Huangyou (1053) and took six years to complete in the fourth year of Jiayou (1059). With a total length of 834 meters and a width of 7 meters, the bridge has 46 huge stone piers and all of its components are made of stone. Its sturdy and durable structure, beautiful and elegant design, highlight the outstanding wisdom of ancient Chinese working people, reflecting a very high level of bridge engineering technology and artistry.
